Its real name is: Pachira Aquatica. It all started in Taiwan where an old farmer, who worked so hard his whole life and never really prospered. He lived in a small valley and was very superstitious. One day, he went to the field as usual, and saw a small, unusual plant next to his farm. He thought to himself, I have never seen this kind plant before . . . ah, maybe God heard my prayer and has given me a chance to be rich! Then, he carefully took the plant home and began to research and study this unusual, yet beautiful plant.

The farmer found out that this plant was very resilient and did not need much care. It was hardy and tolerant to low light and dryness. Water once a month or when the soil is completely dry. The beautiful light green leaves spread out on the stem and grew one after another up to five leaves. It is said to be incredibly lucky to find one with 7 (I got a tree that has 2 stems with 7 leaves and 1 stem with 6 leaves, all other stems have 1 to 5 leaves.) He finally grew these plants from the seeds and sold them at the market. He sold all of them as quickly as the wind blew and was demanded for more. So he called the plant Good Luck Money Tree or Good Fortune Tree.

Today, the Good Luck Money Tree plants have been sold not only in Taiwan but are also exported to other countries. So, guess what? I have ordered in a shipment of the Bonsai money trees to our Nature Perfect store! They look fun and cute, and the best thing about the Bonsai is it so easy to take care of them, just like the Lucky Bamboo! I have one growing in the dark (very low light), one by the window and one on the counter; and they all grow beautifully in the stones! How often do I give water? When I remember. Fertilizer? I could, but I don't. I wish everyone who has a Lucky Bamboo plant to receive good luck, and to receive good fortune from this lovely Money Tree Bonsai.
